• Uses – Frankincense Oil has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide
range of conditions including syphilis, rheumatism, respiratory and urinary
tract infections, skin diseases, as well as digestive and nervous complaints. It
is a powerful bile stimulant, but is seldom used internally in today’s world,
though formerly it was in great repute. In many ancient writings and texts, it
was often the prescribed “medicine of choice” for numerous ailments. For
instance, Pliny mentions it should be taken internally as an antidote to hemlock
and other poisons. The physician Avicenna (tenth century) recommends it as an
antidote for “tumours, ulcers, vomiting, dysentery and fevers.” In China it is
yet used today as the treatment of choice for leprosy. Externally applied, this
is an excellent choice for skin repair and rejuvenation due to its powerful
anti-oxidant characteristics. Age and liver spots have been known to fade and
parched, wrinkled, and leathery skin often becomes smooth and supple. Sadly, its
principal use now in the West is in the manufacture of incense and pastilles,
but again, this is the low quality Somali product. The inhalation of steam laden
with the volatile (non-diluted) portion of the true Omani oil is reported to
relieve asthma, bronchitis and laryngitis, often in just one treatment.
• Application - Most commonly used externally directly on the skin, as it may
well be the most powerful, all-natural anti-oxidant on the planet. Apply to
warts, skin cancers, and all dry and cracking problem areas, (elbows, heels,
sides of feet etc.) May be helpful in treating serious skin problems such as
eczema, psoriasis, and even leprosy. Put 5 drops in an 8 oz. glass of distilled
water or use our new liquicaps for internal use. Historically shown to be
effective when taken internally in relieving the effects of poisoning, but may
also be helpful in providing relief from ulcers and other stomach ailments.
Dilute 50/50 with distilled water for use in an atomizer for possible relief of
lung ailments. The royalty of the ancient Middle East also used it as a perfume,
applying it on the forehead and behind the ears. It was commonly given to
newborn infants on the cord, on the skin, and internally for healthy bowels. In
the Middle East 2,000 years ago, it was customary to provide royal gifts to the
family of a newly born child - Frankincense to provide for the infant’s good
health, Myrrh for the Mother to ease post-partem symptoms, and Gold to the
father to help with expenses.
Cautions - non toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing. Is extremely
hypo-allergenic in most individuals.
