Product Description

Vitamins are organic compounds essential for the normal growth and development of multicellular organisms. Vitamins provide nutrients for a broad range of health maintenance of cells, tissues, and organs.  They enable the efficiency of chemical energy provided by food to help process proteins, carbohydrates, and fats required for respiration.  They play important roles in bodily functions such as metabolism, immunity, and digestion. Healthy Solutions: Vitamins provides these essential vitamins and much more.  If that wasn't enough, like our minerals, this vitamin supplement is liquid.  Which may allow for increased efficiency and utilization within the body and is free from fillers and bonding agents.

Here is a list of the ingredients in Healthy Solutions: Vitamins and a short description of what each one does.

Vitamin A - Is a vitamin that is needed by the retina of the eye in the form of a specific metabolite, the light-absorbing molecule retinal, that is absolutely necessary for both low-light (scotopic vision) and color vision.

Vitamin C - Is an essential nutrient for humans and certain other animal species, in which it functions as a vitamin. In living organisms, ascorbate is an antioxidant, since it protects the body against oxidative stress. It is also a cofactor in at least eight enzymatic reactions,

Vitamin D - One of the most important roles of vitamin D is to maintain skeletal calcium balance by promoting calcium absorption in the intestines, promoting bone resorption by increasing osteoclast number, maintaining calcium and phosphate levels for bone formation, and allowing proper functioning of parathyroid hormone to maintain serum calcium levels. Vitamin D deficiency can result in lower bone mineral density and an increased risk of bone loss (osteoporosis) or bone fracture because a lack of vitamin D alters mineral metabolism in the body.

Vitamin E - Tocopherol is an important lipid-soluble antioxidant. It performs its functions as antioxidant in what is know by the glutathion peroxidase pathway and that it protects cell membranes from oxidation by reacting with lipid radicals produced in the lipid peroxidation chain reaction. This would remove the free radical intermediates and prevent the oxidation reaction from continuing.

Vitamin B1 - Thiamine, Animals must obtain it from their diet, and, thus, for them it is a vitamin. Insufficient intake in birds produces a characteristic polyneuritis, and in mammals results in a disease called beriberi affecting the peripheral nervous system (polyneuritis) and/or the cardiovascular system.

Vitamin B2 - Riboflavin, is an easily absorbed micronutrient with a key role in maintaining health in humans and other animals. It plays a key role in energy metabolism, and for the metabolism of fats, ketone bodies, carbohydrates, and proteins.

Vitamin B3 - Niacin, Is an organic compound with the formula C6H5NO2 and, depending on the definition used, one of the forty to eighty essential human nutrients. In larger doses, niacin can reverse atherosclerosis by lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and favorably affecting other compounds.

Vitamin B5 - Is a water-soluble vitamin. For many animals, pantothenic acid is an essential nutrient. Animals require pantothenic acid to synthesize coenzyme-A, as well as to synthesize and metabolize proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

Vitamin B6 - Pyridoxine, The primary role of vitamin B6 is to act as a co-enzyme to many other enzymes in the body that are involved predominantly in the metabolism of all amino acids from synthesis to breakdown.

Vitamin B9 - Folic Acid, (folic acid and folate inclusive) is essential to numerous bodily functions. The human body needs folate to synthesize DNA, repair DNA, and methylate DNA as well as to act as a cofactor in biological reactions involving folate. It is especially important in aiding rapid cell division and growth, such as in infancy and pregnancy,

Vitamin B12 - Cyanocobalamin, Vitamin B-12, also called cobalamin, is a water soluble vitamin with a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and for the formation of blood. It is one of the eight B vitamins. It is normally involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation, but also fatty acid synthesis and energy production.

Amino Acids

L-Carnitine, Carnitine is primarily used for heart-related conditions. Several clinical trials show that L-carnitine and propionyl-L-carnitine can be used along with conventional treatment for angina to reduce medication needs and improve the ability of those with angina to exercise without chest pain. In living cells, it is required for the transport of fatty acids from the cytosol into the mitochondria during the breakdown of lipids (fats) for the generation of metabolic energy.

L-Cystine, Cystine is a dimeric amino acid formed by the oxidation of two cysteine residues that covalently link to make a disulfide bond.

L-Lysine, It is an essential amino acid, which means that the human body cannot synthesize it. Its codons are AAA and AAG. L-Lysine is a necessary building block for all protein in the body. L-Lysine plays a major role in calcium absorption; building muscle protein; recovering from surgery or sports injuries; and the body's production of hormones, enzymes, and antibodies.

L-Methionine, Methionine is one of only two amino acids encoded by a single codon (AUG) in the standard genetic code (tryptophan, encoded by UGG, is the other). The codon AUG is also the "Start" message for a ribosome that signals the initiation of protein translation from mRNA.

L- Arginine, Is an α-amino acid. The L-form is one of the 20 most common natural amino acids. At the level of molecular genetics, in the structure of the messenger ribonucleic acid mRNA, CGU, CGC, CGA, CGG, AGA, and AGG, are the triplets of nucleotide bases or codons that codify for arginine during protein synthesis. In mammals, arginine is classified as a semi-essential or conditionally essential amino acid, depending on the developmental stage and health status of the individual.

L-Glutathione, It is an antioxidant, preventing damage to important cellular components caused by reactive oxygen species such as free radicals and peroxides.

Taurine, In the cell, taurine keeps potassium and magnesium inside the cell while keeping excessive sodium out. In this sense, it works like a diuretic. Because it aids the movement of potassium, sodium, and calcium in and out of the cell, taurine has been used as a supplementation for epileptics as well as for people who have uncontrollable facial twitches.

MSM - Methysulfonylmethane, After several reports that MSM helped arthritis in animal models, one study by P.R. Usha et al. had suggested that 1.5 g per day MSM (alone or in combination with glucosamine sulfate) was helpful in relieving symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.
