It varies between each product, but what you need to realize is that fewer milligrams are needed with our liquid minerals because absorption is much more efficient and complete than in other forms.  The amount of milligrams ABSORBED is much more important than how many milligrams are consumed.

For the individual minerals we do not recommend combining them. They are designed to be taken sublingually (held under the tongue) before being swallowed and to wait 60 seconds before taking another. We electromagnetically enhance the individual minerals to increase their effectiveness and combining them may ruin that added benefit. While it is possible (and safe) to combine them, we do not recommend it for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

That being said, we do offer our own once daily mineral blend called Healthy Balance. We have increased the concentration of the minerals to make up for the lack of effectiveness compared to the individual minerals, but the minerals in Healthy Balance are still ionic, water soluble, and angstrom sized. So while not as efficient as the individual minerals, it's considerably better than other pill/tablet forms.  

A single firm pinch of the eyedropper provided in the mineral bottle picks up approximately 1 ml. of mineral and is considered a ‘dropperful’ even though the eyedropper may only be ½ full.

 

You cannot benefit from minerals unless you can absorb them. The ability of a mineral to be utilized by the body is primarily a matter of size and form. If you get the particle size of the mineral small enough, you not only get the mineral into the body (absorption), but you also get the mineral into the cell (cell assimilation), which is the key to fully utilizing the benefits of mineral nutrients. This can only happen if the minerals are ionic and charged. Even in many solid foods, mineral elements are not free, but firmly bound in the “food matrix” Although stomach acid helps ionize the minerals in foods, a mineral supplement should contain already naturally ionized minerals to be fully absorbed and used by the body.

So in summary factors that influence mineral absorption include the form of the mineral ingested, small particle size, solubility, and the health intestinal tract.

FACT: As stated in the Journal of Chiropractic Economics (March 1998), 250,000 pounds of undigested mineral and vitamin tablets and pills are pulled out of the city sewage filters every 6 weeks in Seattle, WA - many of them with the brand names still readable!

Water-soluble minerals are a unique from of mineral supplement that utilize a new proprietary scientific technology that transforms insoluble minerals (metals) into angstrom-sized water-soluble ionic particles. These liquid ionic minerals are in a form which the body can selectively absorb and utilize.

Mother Earth Mineral's angstrom sized particles are 1/10,000th of a micron and bond with the hydrogen molecules in the water to form an ionic solution. The principle difference is particle size and form of the mineral. Colloidal essentially refers to a 'suspended' particle mixed with water, not bonded to the hydrogen and oxygen molecule itself. Typically, colloidal suspensions measure in size between 1 to 5 microns. Colloidal mineral supplements are essentially small metallic particles floating in water.

Ionic: Comes from the word ion, which is a single atom or a group of atoms which carries an electrical charge, which is either positive or negative. The positive ions are called “cations” and the negative ions are called “anions”. Anions: Negatively charged atoms, radicals or groups of atoms which travel to the anode or positive pole during electrolysis. Eg Na+ (sodium)

Whatever you feel your body needs. Some people feel they need more, others less. Calcium and Magnesium are needed daily by every human being to initiate the complex series of chemical reactions that create energy in the individual cells, therefore, it may be a smart idea to take a minimum of two droppers of each mineral daily. Silver exhibits broad based anti-viral and anti-biotic tendencies, so many people give their immune systems a boost by daily silver consumption. Again, all angstrom sized minerals are totally water soluble and therefore do not tend to accumulate in tissue cells, so overdosing is typically not a problem.

If a disease condition is being treated by your health practitioner, you should follow his/her advice, even as to vitamin and/or mineral supplementation. Keep in mind that just as water needs to be replenished on a daily basis, so do minerals. Our bodies are composed of 75% water and 25% minerals – many chronic conditions are caused by cellular dehydration and mineral imbalances. There is no substitute for drinking pure water (sorry, coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks do not hydrate the cells like water), and there is no substitute for minerals on the cellular level. We do not replenish the oil in the crankcase of our vehicles for 3-6 months, then stop, then why should we desire to stop the ‘preventive maintenance’ of our most valuable asset – our bodies, after just a few short months?

Absolutely. The anti-parasite formula is a good idea for cats and dogs to help keep your home and yard free of harmful uninvited parasite larvae that have been known to eventually invade human hosts as well. All mammalian life needs minerals to function optimally. Many pet owners report great results (increased gloss in fur and hair) by adding a dropper of each mineral to the pet’s water tray every 5 days. Mineral supplementation is a MUST for owners of show animals.

The vitamins you get from foods can ONLY be utilized by the body if minerals are present, in the correct ratios, as nature intended. Without minerals, vitamins are useless. It's like pouring flour into a pan and expecting it to turn into a cake...it simply will not happen unless you provide the other ingredients that cause the necessary metabolic responses. The challenge with most traditional pill and capsule supplements is their complex state. They have usually also been processed with intense pressure, heat, paraffin coatings, and fillers during the manufacturing process. Pills and capsules require significant digestion before any type of effective absorption can take place. Colloidal minerals provide only marginal improvement. Colloidal products are simply a suspension of small metallic "filings" in water. People usually see noticeable differences in energy, sleep, mental concentration, and general well-being in just a matter of days or weeks. It is not necessary, in normal use, to refrigerate Mother Earth Minerals once they have been opened.

This is a complex issue beyond the scope of a simple answer. We believe that everyone is unique. We each have our own metabolic type and nutritional requirements. Simply however, it is wise practice to increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables. Whenever possible, consume organically grown produce. Pesticides and herbicides interfere with the plant's ability to absorb nutrients from the soil. Also it is always a good idea to follow these basic guidelines:

Drink at least 8 glasses of pure clean water.

Increase your fiber intake.

Supplement with non-metallic ionic Minerals.

Supplement with probiotics and Essential Earth Enzymes.

• Exercise for at least 30 minutes three times a week.

Minerals are essential for good health. The body utilizes and requires over 80 minerals for complete balanced health. Every living cell depends on minerals for proper structure, function and electrical conductivity. Minerals are needed for the formation of blood, bones and the proper composition of body fluids, healthy nerve function, and proper operation of the cardiovascular system, etc. Almost all enzyme reactions in the body require minerals. Dr Linus Pauling believed that without minerals, even vitamins are useless!

Most of the U.S. population is deficient in essential minerals. According to Senate Document #264 1936 our depleted soils have been strip-mined for over a 100 years. They no longer contain the minerals your body needs, nor do commercial fertilizers used on farmland today. Typically, no – but each individual is different. For instance, one person may love walnuts, while the next may be highly allergic to them. Why should the FDA ban walnuts or require warning labels on them because they may be ‘deadly’ to a small number of people? Keep in mind that like oxygen and water, the human body rarely if ever reacts negatively to pure mineral nutrients that it needs to survive and maintain good health. Again, the minerals are not chemicals, and therefore are extremely hypo-allergenic to the vast majority of people.

No, you cannot take too much of the minerals and they by themselves rarely make anyone ‘sick’. Our minerals are angstrom sized particles and are 100% water soluble. This means that the minerals cannot cause toxic accumulations in the body tissues, and all excess minerals are discharged naturally through the urea and feces. However, when pure nutrition is introduced to the body, often the body begins to ‘dump’ toxic substances and can cause mild to severe flu-like symptoms (i.e. nausea, diarrhea, low-grade fever, etc). Keep in mind that if this occurs, it typically a very good sign that your body is responding and cleansing itself of harmful toxins. It is the release of the TOXINS that may make you ill, not the minerals themselves. Like pure air and water, purely natural minerals are extremely hypo-allergenic and are essential to achieving and maintaining good health and vitality.

Probably not; our soils are in poor condition. Because of years of overuse, the soils used to grow our fruits and vegetables, and feed our livestock have been depleted of their natural resources. Plants do manufacture vitamins, but they cannot manufacture minerals; they must uptake them from the soil they're grown in. Pesticides and harmful chemicals kill the microbes in soil that are necessary for plants to convert inorganics (metallic minerals) to water soluble ionic and therefore usable substances. Without this conversion, plants are unable to take up minerals into their root system and as a result they become mineral deficient...mineral deficient foods create mineral deficient people.

Most farmers only replace 3 out of the 60 to 84 minerals our bodies need to maintain optimal health. And even worse, they are generally replacing these 3 minerals with unnatural man-made chemical versions. According to Dr. Linus Pauling, winner of two Nobel Prizes, “You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment to a mineral deficiency.” This is why it's so important to take high quality supplements that can help offset the serious nutritional deficiencies created by over processed and nutrient deficient foods.

Even people who believe they are eating a healthy diet can be surprised at the numerous detrimental manufacturing processes used on “natural” foods. For example, grated cheese requires anti-clumping additives to keep it from sticking together in the package. Many whole grain cereals are processed with high heat “extrusion”, which destroys much of the nutrients and renders the amino acids very toxic. Even old fashioned rolled oats are processed at high heat to keep them from clumping together. Many restaurant “homemade” soups start with a chemical, powdered soup base, which is likely to be high in MSG. Practically any pre-packaged food you buy, no matter how “natural” appearing, has been subjected to some sort of processing designed to improve shelf life, flavor, or general marketability of the product, all of which degrade its nutrient value.

While this is certainly true with certain kinds of plastic bottles, for example, cheap milk bottles, we specifically chose Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET #1) for our Minerals. This plastic is a strong, lightweight plastic resin and form of polyester that closely resembles glass in clarity and functionality and takes colorants well. PET is commonly used in food packaging due to its strong barrier properties against water vapor, dilute acids, gases, oils, and alcohols. PET is also shatter-resistant, slightly flexible and easy to recycle, and does NOT leach petrochemicals into the product stored within it.

The truth is that certain PET plastics are actually found to be more stable, and more leach-proof via independent lab testing than glass. Our cobalt blue, 8 oz. bottles are specially designed, manufactured, and tested by Alpha Packaging company - and we chosen this for our 8 oz. refill bottles because of the test results - and for no other reason. Leaching of petrochemicals is non-existent in MEM PET cobalt bottles.

Most definitely not. Dr. Ott was one of the pioneering forces behind angstrom minerals, and the science behind it is one of our foundational supports of the company.

The angstrom, named after Swedish physicist Johan Angstrom, (also known as the angstrom unit), is simply a measurement of displacement equal to 0.0000000001 meter (10 -10 m). It is sometimes also used to express the wavelengths of visible light, ultraviolet (UV) light, X rays, and gamma rays. (See the work of Dr. John Ott - http://www.ottlite.com/t-ottlite-story.aspx)

Thanks to Dr. John Ott's research, we now know that visible-light spectrum extends from approximately 7700 angstroms (red light) to 3900 angstroms (violet light). This corresponds to frequencies of 390 to 770 terahertz (THz), where 1 THz = 10 12 Hz. Ultraviolet radiation, X rays, and gamma rays have progressively shorter wavelengths and higher frequencies. Some gamma rays have wavelengths less than 0.0001 (10 -4 ) angstrom.

Sadly, the angstrom is not often used nowadays as a unit of measurement. It has been largely superseded in the last decade by the nanometer(nm), which is 10 times larger; 1 nm = 10 angstroms = 10 -9 m. However, when Dr. Ott conducted his research work in the late 80's - the nanometer (nm) was not a commonly-used term.

Now, the REASON minerals do their healing work in the human cell is due to the specific teraherz (THz) signature frequency of each mineral. This was the crux of Dr. Ott's Doctorate research - quantifying and accurately calculating the specific energy signatures of the minerals. This explains why silver ions destroy harmful bacteria for instance, and why iodine and lithium exhibit their energy properties as well. It's science, not "witch doctoring".

To quantify whether the pure mineral particle bound to the H2O molecule is truly 10 times smaller than a nanometer, (i.e. angstrom-sized) special test equipment is needed to verify the Tyndall effects of our testing lasers. Ion-specific spectrographs have quantified the terahertz changes in our pure, zero ppm, distilled water - which of course then fall in to the sub-angstrom category.
